Born in Malacca, Malaysia, Sand T Kalloch has lived in the United States for most of her adult life.
Currently she resides in Malden, Massachusetts. 




Sand T Kalloch earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts. Her main artistic output is in the form of mixed media paintings. The primary intention of her current body of non-objective work is to create a simple visual experience utilizing the basic elements of dot (point), line, surface, color, form and light. Sand uses a combination of UV resistant industrial epoxy resin, graphite and acrylic paint on either archival tempered wood or acrylic glass panels. Lighting plays an important role in the presentation of Sand ’s work for it maximizes the viewer's visual experience.

Sand T Kalloch has exhibited her work nationally and internationally at universities, colleges, alternative art spaces, commercial galleries, art fairs, design showrooms, community centers, and on various online gallery sites.  She has been the recipient of numerous awards for her work in the visual arts. They include: Best Abstract awarded by Clara Lieu, Director of the Jewett Art Gallery at Wellesley College and presented by Attleboro Arts Musuem in December 2011; a First Place awarded by Howard Yezerski and presented by Cambridge Art Association in November 2011; an Honarable Mention awarded by Stephanie Walker and presented by Time Warner Gallery in May 2011; a Best of Show awarded by Steve Negron and presented by Lynn Arts, Inc. in January 2011; the 2009 New England Art Awards awarded by the New England Journal of Aesthetic Research in February 2010; an Exceptional Work awarded by Jocelyn Almy-Testa and presented by TLGUTS in June 2009, a Solo Exhibition Award by Caladan Gallery in 2009 and 2011; a First Place awarded by Nicholas Capasso and presented by Schiltkamp Gallery at Clark University in November 2007.
 
Sand has been the recipient of numerous private, local and federal grants, which include: the LEF Foundation’s Contemporary Work Funds in 2006 and 2007; the Massachusetts Cultural Council LCC Grants in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2007 and 2009.
 
Sand's work resides in private art collections worldwide, including collections in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Norway, Singapore, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Her works are in the permanent collections of these public institutions: the National Art Gallery of Malaysia, Malaysian Institute of Art, Union Cultural Organization, Art House Gallery, J.S. Design, L.C. Advertising and Atlas Printing Company in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Sand has participated in Art Miami 2011, San Francisco Fine Art Fair 2011, Toronto International Art Fair 2010/2011 and Interior Design Show West IDS West 2010/2011 with Jennifer Kostuik Gallery in Vancouver, BC, CANADA; and ARTSINGAPORE 2008 with TAKSU Gallery, Singapore/Malaysia.  
 
Sand’s recent exhibitions were held at the following art venues: BLANK SPACE in New York; University Art Gallery in University of Massachusetts Dartmouth; CASA Design Boston, HallSpace Gallery, Bromfield Gallery, ITALIAN Design, Cushing-Martin Gallery in Stonehill College, Grimshaw-Gudewicz Art Gallery in Bristol Community College, Mazmanian Art Gallery in Framingham State College, the Student Union Art Gallery at University of Massachusetts in Amherst in Massachusetts, and Pentimenti Gallery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 
 
Internationally, Sand has recently exhibited her work at the following locations: Jennifer Kostuik Gallery in Vancouver, Canada; the National Gallery of Visual Art in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; ParisCONCRET in Paris, France; SNO Contemporary Art Projects in Sydney, Australia; and TAKSU Gallery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and in Singapore.
